Summer Concert with Brixton Chamber Orchestra – Sat 26th July

Brandon TRA hosted an open-air performance by the Brixton Chamber Orchestra, in the grounds of the estate on Saturday 26th July.
All residents, neighbours, & guests are welcome to come to this FREE event.

We got fabulous weather on the day, and our residents & neighbours witnessed fabulous performance by the Brixton Chamber Orchestra.
This was the first time that some of the children on the Brandon got to see a large orchestra perform live, and everybody enjoyed the performance, and participated in the open-mic session at the end, where the audience were invited up to sing with the orchestra.
Catering was provided by Deuce Hospitality, who cooked a menu of fine Caribbean food from scratch, and ice cream was supplied by Tony in his ice cream van.
The kids zone had a supervised bouncy castle & we also had Kez doing face painting & we had Shannon and her team from Simply Smiley Productions work their socks off hosting a ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’ for the children.
Cllr John Batteson dropped by and had a discussion with Natasha from BCO about supporting a spring tour of Southwark estates in 2026.
The event has a nice relaxing vibe, and many residents sat out on the grass after the event listening to music & relaxing in the sunshine.
This was a different approach to a community event, but judging from the audience feedback, one that we will look to repeat in the future.

A huge thank you to all the members of the TRA committee, who helped with the planning of the event, did the shopping, set up the site, power & gazebos, and did the clear up afterwards.
