Irrigation system installation – Bateman House

The gardening group have installed an irrigation system to allow the efficient watering of all the planting in the triangular bed at the front of Bateman House. This will provide water directly to the plants that have been moved into this space as part of the Great Estates refresh of estate planting. The system consists of a backbone of 13mm LDPE pipe, with 10 separate spurs of soaker hose to deliver water to all of the new planting. Each of the spurs has an individual valve, so they can be turned on and off individually, to ensure efficient use of water. We will be able to attach a water meter to this system, so we can record exactly how much water is being delivered to the plants.
