Jack Hobbs Club

Jack Hobbs Club returns to the community

Southwark Council has decided to return the Jack Hobbs club to the communities team, and will soon be consulting on how the community space can be used by our Brandon community.

The Jack Hobbs club was originally designed to be the social hub of the Brandon estate, with the space intended to be used by the community on our estate. Unfortunately, the space has not been made available to our community for about the last 20 years, as Southwark had rented the space out commercially, but the Tenants & Residents Association (TRA) are now working with Southwark to bring the space back to being used by our community.

The hall itself is quite extensive, with a hallway, reception area, and three meeting rooms on the ground floor. The first floor consists of a large .wooden floored hall )which can be divided into two separate spaces) and also has a separate kitchen/catering area. There is also an upper mezzanine floor which has two medium-sized rooms.

We would very much like to ask residents how they would like the space to be used, and Southwark will soon be consulting on this issue.
