Latino Dance Night

Brandon TRA ran a very successful Latino Dance Night for our residents on Saturday 4th December. Entertainment was provided by a Colombian DJ, Juan, and a performance by Escuela Talentos of Latin American traditional dances. We provided food & drinks, some Colombian empanadas, and a number of dishes prepared by members of the Latin American community on the Brandon. Guests included Nat Stevens, our resident services manager & Cherrelle and Dav, representing ‘Fight4Change. The event was supported by some of the Southwark Young Advisors, who helped out with setup, and managed guest registrations for us.

There was a raffle & prize draw, and a photo-booth backdrop with props for residents to throw a few shapes.

It was a well attended event, everybody had a great time & got out on the dance floor, and it was great to see the hall used as a social space by Brandon residents & their friends. A big thank you to Paula, Ola, Valentina, & Siobhan for making the night such a success.

Paula even gave the dance floor a quick test before the guests arrived! This was followed by some demonstration dances by Escuela Talentos, one of which is featured below:
