Resident Participation – CIH Level 1 and 2 for 18-25-year-olds

Please see the details below about opportunities for 18–25-year-old council residents:

The Tenant and homeowner team are looking for young 18–25-year-old council residents who would like to gain a CIH qualification,

We have six free places on level 1 and 2 Chartered Institute of Housing courses, that can be a steppingstone for young people who are interested in getting involved in resident participation activities or are looking for a career in the social housing sector.

The level one qualification is a nine-week course, which is due to start on Tuesday 3 May 2022. The course will give a snapshot about how housing works and is popular for staff new to housing, board members, and involved residents. (See attached flyer for course content.)

We have enough budget for learners who successfully complete level one to move onto the level two course, and we can cover any out-of-pocket expenses to ensure the training is completely free.

We need your help to target 18-25-year-olds who reflect the demographics of Southwark for this project. Could you please share this opportunity with interested parties from your networks and contacts lists. We are also happy for you to identify suitable candidates and put them forward for consideration.
