Become a Committee member?

We have an active TRA and would like to attract more committee members who want to contribute to improving our estate and community. Joining our committee is a rewarding experience and lets you be part of planning & organising events, and being part of the decision making process on the Brandon. Being a committee member is an active role, and will require you to give some time to helping make community events happen. Working on our committee is done on a voluntary basis, but we can cover expenses.

Southwark offer a range of training including:

  • Committee Skills
  • Safeguarding Training
  • First Aid Training
  • Food Hygiene Training
  • DBS Checking

Last year our TRA organised the following activities, which were all run and supported by volunteers

  • 5 week summer football camp
  • Summer activities programme for kids
  • Weekly Junior Gardening  club
  • Weekly Taekwondo sessions
  • Weekly seniors mobility sessions
  • Adult gardening sessions
  • Coach Trip to Howlett’s safari park
  • Xmas market on Maddock Way
  • Afro Caribbean evening for residents

Committee members will be expected to work closely with the Resident Services team, and tale part in monthly Estate Walkabouts to highlight repairs and improvements.

Our committee also worked in conjunction with the Great Estates initiative, and had an input into agreeing where to focus over £100k of investment on the estate.

If you would like to help out and  be involved in the programmes for 2023, please attend the AGM and apply to join our committee.
